1. Overview
LocalPDF Kit is an offline Windows desktop application. Your PDF files, images, and their contents are processed entirely on your own computer. We do not operate any server that receives, stores, or has access to the documents you open or edit in the app.
2. Data we do not collect
We do not collect, transmit, or have access to the content of any PDF or image file you process with the app's core tools (merge, split, compress, rotate, organize, protect/unlock, watermark, metadata, images to/from PDF).
3. Optional Chat with PDF feature
Chat with PDF is an opt-in feature, gated behind its own consent screen. If you enable it, the text extracted from the PDF you're asking about is sent to the third-party AI provider you configure (OpenAI, Anthropic, DeepSeek, or Kimi/Moonshot), using an API key you supply and control. That provider's own privacy policy governs how they handle the data you send them. We never see or store this traffic — it goes directly from your PC to the provider you chose.
4. License activation
Activating a paid license makes a single network request to our license server to verify your license key and record a device activation against it (so we can enforce the number of devices your plan allows). This request includes your license key and a non-reversible identifier derived from your device — never document content, filenames, or file metadata.
5. Purchase & billing data
If you purchase a license, our payment processor handles your payment details directly — we do not receive or store full card numbers. We retain your email address and order details to deliver your license key and provide support.
6. Website analytics
This website may use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics (such as page-view counts) to understand traffic. This data is not tied to your identity and is unrelated to how the desktop application itself handles your documents.
